Bridgette Brennan is the Assistant Manager at the Chinook Pool. She has been lifeguarding for 3 years and was inspired to become a guard when her daughter, Brynn, decided to join Swim Team. She felt it would be a great summer job for her as she is a Teacher at Zurich School. Bridgette enjoys getting to know the people who go to the pool and helping swimmers become more confident. Her most memorable moment is seeing the swimmers go off the diving board for the first time during pool parties. Bridgette says the most important thing that people should remember when attending the pool is that the Lifeguards are not babysitters and that it is best to put on sunscreen before coming to the pool so it has enough time to soak in. One safety tip she wishes that every swimmer knew is to not get scared when you cannot touch. Try to stay calm and bob to where you can touch, depending on how deep it is.
When not at the pool, Bridgette enjoys assisting with coaching of the Chinook Lions Swim Team and spending time with her daughter, Brynn. A fun fact about Bridgette: During her last year of swimming, her coach put her in the 100 Backstroke (which she never swam) and ended up being in the top 12 for her first time swimming it. Bridgette’s favorite snack is fruit. Be sure to stop by the Chinook Pool and say hello to Bridgette!
